Several Suspects Captured in Mass Drug Arrest Operation in Wise County

A mass arrest operation related to methamphetamine and buprenorphine distribution in Wise County, VA has lead to the arrest of 65 suspects.

According to Wise County Commonwealth’s Attorney Chuck Slemp, the operation led by the Wise County Sheriff’s Office and other area agencies was executed Tuesday morning, successfully capturing the individuals wanted who were recently indicted by a grand jury. “Law enforcement officers throughout our region are working diligently to make our streets safer by taking action against the trade of illegal and dangerous narcotics, specifically methamphetamine. Meth is a dangerous, highly addictive drug with scary side effects. We will continue our efforts with aggressive prosecution of these drug crimes to ensure that our community is safer and that justice is served,” Slemp said.

Over 125 charges are being placed against the 65 arrested, after conclusion of a months long investigation by the Southwest Virginia Regional Narcotics Task Force.
