Documents: East Tennessee woman worked as registered nurse with no license for eight years
An East Tennessee woman masquerading as a registered nurse for eight years has waived her indictment on federal charges in Greeneville.
Court documents said as part of a plea agreement, Misty Dawn Bacon, 44, of Morristown, admitted to submitting false information to the health care companies that employed her between 2012 and 2018 even though she had no state license.
Prosecutors said over that time Bacon administered medical care, obtained access to personal information and gave information for health care claims. Bacon is scheduled to be sentenced in April on charges of wire and health care fraud and identity theft and faces up to 45 years in prison.
