Bristol Tennessee police use social media to capture suspected propane thief

Pictures posted on social media aided the Bristol Tennessee Police Department in the capture of a propane thief.

A report from the agency said Christopher Travis Carmack, 41, stole several propane canisters from Food City on Volunteer Parkway. The tips from the public led them to Carmack’s residence—located just across the street from the grocery store.

Officers recovered 12 more tanks at the home. Carmack is charged with vandalism and theft charges. Police said he also has outstanding assault, child support, and probation violation charges.
