VSP Investigating Friday morning shooting in Bland County, one seriously injured

Virginia State Police are investigating after a reported shooting Friday morning in Bland County leaves one man with serious injuries.

VSP says the incident occurred just before 5:30 a.m when a 40-year old male victim was traveling on Interstate 77 when a gold Pontiac minivan pulled beside him near mile marker 63 and someone inside started shooting at the victim’s vehicle, striking the man. The victim injuries are considered serious, but non-life threatening. The gold van continued on I-77 towards West Virginia.
