First COVID-19 case in Wise County is a resident of Appalachia
The Appalachia Police Department reported Saturday that the case of COVID-19 identified in Wise County by the Virginia Department of Health is a patient who lives in the town.
The agency said in a Facebook post that their officers along with other town officials are attempting to notify those who came into contact with the man in his 70s.
The APD also reported that two EMT workers who transported the resident have been placed into quarantine.
