UPDATE: Federal judge rejects challenge to Northam’s COVID-19 safety steps

A Virginia businessman is unsuccessful in a lawsuit requesting an injunction against Governor Ralph Northam’s executive orders during the virus pandemic.

A federal court judge ruled against the owner of a vineyard and wedding venue in Loudon County who argued that Northam’s regulations exceeded his emergency powers.

Judge John Gibney wrote in his decision that COVID-19 is a dangerous disease and government is obligated to address it.
