Several new COVID-19 recoveries reported in patients and staff at Christian Care Center of Bristol

The number of recoveries from COVID-19 at a long term care facility in Blountville who has felt the brunt of a virus outbreak continues to grow.

Officials with Christian Care Center of Bristol reported 61 recoveries on Monday, including 37 residents and 24 staff members. Active cases among staff and residents have also dropped to 30, compared to 53 a week ago.

Last week, state health officials visited the facility to inspect operations, review policies, and talk with staff members. 20 residents remain in isolation, seven residents are hospitalized, and four staff members remain in quarantine.
