UPDATE: Man suspected of kidnapping Unicoi County child found competent to stand trial

A man accused of kidnapping a 5-year-old Unicoi County girl out of her front yard has been found competent to stand trial.

Documents from US District Court in Greeneville say a magistrate judge made the ruling in the case of Justin Claude Richardson who pleaded not guilty in September of taking the child then dropping her off near her home later in the day.

Richardson was also indicted on two child pornography charges. A four-day trial is scheduled to begin Dec. 15 in Knoxville.
