Johnson County Schools delays start of academic year to Aug. 17
Johnson County Schools will delay the start of the academic year due to a rise of COVID-19 cases in the county.
That announcement was made by the school system on Sunday, with the first day now scheduled for Aug. 17 from its previously announced opening half-day on Aug. 7 and first full day on Aug. 10.

A special called board meeting will be held on Wednesday evening to discuss the plan for returning to schools. Teacher workdays that were scheduled for Aug. 4 and Aug. 5 have been rescheduled to Aug. 13 and Aug. 14.
