UPDATE: TBI, ATF involved in investigation into fire at Johnson City ammunition business

Traffic will remain partially restricted throughout today on the westbound side of W. Market St. in Johnson City following a structure fire early Thursday to a business that houses ammunition.

Johnson City Fire crews worked a blaze at Widener’s Reloading and Shooting Supply in the 3600 block of W Market St. yesterday morning. Johnson City Fire Dept. District Chief Mike Oliver told us between 80-85% of the building is considered a total loss.

A building inspector says the building is uninhabitable, and a joint investigation which includes the Johnson City Fire Department, Johnson City Police Department, TBI, and a representative with the ATF will determine the cause of the fire.
