Carter County Man Charged With Resisting Arrest And Drug Charges

An Elizabethton man suspected of breaking and entering a home on 1877 Highway 91 in Carter County is now jailed on resisting arrest and drug charges. Carter County authorities responded to the call when 32 year old Corey Dean Willis attempted to break into several homes. Willis fled the scene on foot as officers arrived. Deputies caught up with Willis, who still refused to stop for authorities. After several more attempts to get Willis to stop, the officer performed a leg sweep to take Willis to the ground. Following his arrest, Willis was also charged with drug possession for resale. Willis was being held in the Carter County Detention Center where he awaits an arraignment hearing.
