Identified Suspect In Hit And Run Turns Self In to Authorities

A suspect identified in a hit and run incident in Johnson City over the weekend turns himself in to police Monday afternoon. According to a press release, 37 year old Jared Benjamin Lafer of Bakersville, North Carolina, has turned himself to authorities in Washington County, Tennessee. Lafer allegedly ran over a pedestrian during a protest at the intersection of State of Franklin and Spring Street. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. Lafer was released from custody on a 20 thousand dollar bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
