People Inc. will have trained volunteers to assist residents in electronically filing their federal income tax returns. The volunteers will be available @ 450 Commerce Drive in Abingdon on Saturdays from 10:00am - 2:00 pm. starting 3/8 thru 4/12/2014. Area residents with incomes at or below $52,000.00 are encouraged to take advantage of this free service. Residents will need to have photo ID, a Social Security Card and all 2013 income information to access this service. The site is sponsored by People Inc. in conjunction with Virginia CASH Campaign--Creating Assets, Savings and Hope.

The Appalachian Heritage Quilters 5th Annual Quilt Show

FREE to the public - The Appalachian Heritage Quilters will be having their 5th Annual Quilt Show on March 28th and 29th, 2014 at Crossroads Christian Church located at 1380 Suncrest Dr. in Gray, TN. Kiwanis Club Of Wythe County Sponsors A Gospel Concert Fundraiser
March 29, 2014 Saturday, Doors Open @ 6p.m.
The Primitive Quartet and other Gospel Groups will perform in a gospel music concert sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Wythe County, VA. The concert will be held at the George Wythe High School Auditorium, 1 Maroon Way, Wytheville, VA on Saturday March 29, 2014. Music will begin at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.). This concert of bluegrass musicians and gospel music singers is a fund raising event in support of the Kiwanis Clubs charitable projects to improve the welfare of children in the community. The advance tickets are $10.00 for adults ($15.00 at the door). Children under 12 are FREE. Tickets may be purchased by calling 276-228-4438.
