Twelve Of Fourteen Cats Die From Shooting Spree
At least twelve cats have died as a result of a shooting spree on a Greene County farm. Two others, and maybe more cats were injured, requiring specialized veterinary care. The cats were all rescues at Feral Friends of Greene County. The Associated Press is reporting that three 16-year-old boys were identified and arrested in the Saturday night case.

Mexican Roundup
The D-E-A worked with Hawkins County authorities on Wednesday as part of a nationwide roundup of wanted Mexican Men. The roundup was in response to the murder of an immigration officer in Mexico last week. Three were arrested Wednesday that had active warrants for probation violations and failure to appear. Sheriff Ronnie Lawson tells us that leaves 45 Mexicans that are wanted on various charges for possible deportation.

Man Admits To Faking Robbery And Shooting
A Rogersville businessman arrested during a narcotics raid shocked investigators with a startling confession. 44 year old Timmy Wade Mann told them that the robbery and his shooting last fall at his business had been faked. He said that he wanted to gain sympathy and buy some time to pay back 200 thousand dollars he owed. Mann was arrested during a joint investigation between Rogersville Police and the Hawkins County Narcotics Unit.

Arnold Murder Trial Begins Today
The trial of a Scott County, Virginia woman accused in the death of a Johnson City woman is set to begin today. 53 year old Valerie Gail Arnold was arrested in June after the partial skeletal remains of Natasha Gross were found behind her house in East Carters Valley. The trial is expected to last at least a week. If convicted, Arnold faces life in prison. Johnson City police have charged three people in connection with that case.

Man Attacks Woman In Hospital Parking Lot
Kingsport police have arrested a man that attacked a woman in the parking lot of Indian Path Hospital. It happened Saturday night. The man was wearing a purple jacket and a Halloween mask. Police say that 40 year old Mark Smith knocked the woman down and applied a stun gun to her. Witnesses heard the woman's call for help, and ran over. That's when Smith fled the scene. Police caught up with him a short time later and took him into custody. They say that Smith has confessed to the attack. He was the former boyfriend of the victim.

Robbery Arrest
Kingsport police have arrested two men in connection with a November robbery at the Tractor Supply store. Local television stations aired surveillance video of two men taking three wood splitters and an ATV trailer. Tips started pouring in to detectives after the video aired. 22 year old David Dunbar and 28 year old Jason Robinsion were arrested on Friday. They've been charged with Theft Over a Thousand dollars.

Three Arrested After Meth Raid
Three people have been arrested in the Model City on manufacturing of methamphetamine charges. It all began when witnesses noticed a strange odor coming from the basement of a Fairhaven Avenue home. Vice Detectives discovered a meth cook off, and three people were arrested. Lauren Soter, Jesse Jantz and Paul Griggs were charged with manufacturing methamphetamines.

Cameras Catch Computer Culprit
The high tech surveillance cameras in the new Carter County Jail have already paid off. The jail is not yet complete, but the surveillance video was used to solve the theft of a computer. 37 year old Marc Khanani was arrested after the video showed him taking a computer from the facility. The suspect was a temporary employee of Blaine Construction Company who is the general contractor for the jail project.

Florida Fugitive Arrested
Kingsport Police and the U.S. Marshall's Service apprehended a wanted fugitive from Florida. The Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force told Kingsport Detectives about 29 year old Gibson Paul who is suspected of killing his girlfriend on Valentine's Day. He was located at the West Side Inn. The SWAT Team was activated, but before they could arrive, Paul tried to leave in his vehicle. Police and Marshall's took the man into custody without incident. He's being held, awaiting extradition.

NC Man Arrested For Being Alleged Drug Mule
A North Carolina man has been arrested in Washington County, Virginia on drug related charges. Deputies pulled 30 year old Joe Franklin Mitchell over for speeding on Interstate 81. A total of 42 packs of heroin and drug paraphernalia was discovered inside the man's vehicle. Mitchell is alleged to have admitted being a drug courier. He will be arraigned on March 9th in Washington County General District Court.
