J.C. Police Charge Woman For Pretending To Be Nurse
Police in Johnson City have charged a woman with pretending to be a nurse and calling in a prescription at a local pharmacy. They say that Leslie Silvers called the Kmart Pharmacy and ordered two narcotic prescriptions to be filled. Silvers tried to pick up the medications that afternoon and was arrested in the parking lot. She is being held on a 20 thousand dollar bond.

Gray Man Charged After Allegedly Holding Family Hostage
Washington County, Tennessee authorities arrested a Gray man this morning after he allegedly threatened his family with a shotgun. 49 year old Joseph Hodge has been charged with three counts of aggravated domestic violence. Authorities say the man is alleged to have kept family members from leaving their apartment and is alleged to have struck his wife with a baseball bat.

Kingsport Man Pleads Guilty
A Kingsport man who put the body of a dead woman in an illegal Scott county dump site six years ago faces up to five years in prison following a guilty plea. Thomas Smith told police that he and Vicki Lynn Coleman were doing drugs when she died, but instead of calling for help, he dumped Colemanís lifeless body over a steep embankment near the North Fork of the Holston River. He was arrested and jailed in Tennessee on the day the body was found and has been jailed in Scott County upon his release there.

Lawyers Move For Dismissal
Attorneys for a Bristol man charged with rape want his case dismissed. 50 year old Freddie Merritt was arrested in January on charges he raped an 8 year old female relative in 1985. His lawyers say that the statue of limitations are up, and that a 25 year pre-indictment delay violates due process.

Granddad Bandit Arrested
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The FBI says a man dubbed the "Granddad Bandit" and suspected in 25 bank robberies in 13 states including Virginia. Authorities say 53-year-old Michael Mara was arrested by police and FBI agents at a home in Louisiana.

Coeburn Man Charged With Abduction
A Coeburn, Virginia man has been arrested. Israel Wayne Harvey is a registered sex offender. He is charged with abduction, brandishing a firearm, breaking and entering, grand larceny and destruction of property. Wise County authorities searched his home at Family Traditions Trailer Park. Other charges are pending. Harvey is being held in the Duffield Regional Jail. No court date has been set.

Renfro Arraigned
A Washington County man accused of hitting another man in the head with a rock has been arraigned. 48 year old Jesse Renfro was arrested by Johnson City Police and charged with Aggravated Assault. He's being held on a 30 thousand dollar bond. Renfro will be back in court on August 19th.

Unicoi Man Charged With Sexual Exploitation
A Unicoi County man was arrested this week on sexual exploitation of a minor charges. 24 year old Gregory Randall Willis Jr. was caught after a Morristown police task force traced his Internet Protocol address. A search warrant was obtained for Willis' Chestoa Pike home, and his computer was seized. Willis is being held on a 25 thousand dollar bond.

Six Suspects Arrested In Pizza Delivery Robbery
Police have arrested five adults and a juvenile on robbery charges in Abingdon. Police allege that the suspects ambushed and robbed a pizza delivery driver at gun point about 10 days ago. The group took the drivers money bag, wallet, car keys and the pizza. The incident happened on Sunset Drive.

Gate City Man Removed From Courtroom
A Gate City man had to be forcibly removed from a Scott County, Virginia courtroom on Monday. 44 year old Roger Dale Carter was making obscene gestures and threats to local prosecutors. He was arrested by the Scott County Sheriffs Office and charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting arrest. Carter's blood alcohol level was point one six which is twice the legal limit in Virginia.
