Man Arrested For Allegedly Killing Brother
A Greeneville man was charged with second-degree murder Friday after he allegedly shot and killed his brother. The call came in to authorities around 7:30 pm. Richard Nelson is said to have shot and killed his brother David with a 12-gauge shotgun during an argument. Richard Nelson is being held in the Greene County Detention Center on a 125 thousand dollar bond. He will be arraigned on Wednesday. (JB)

Burglary Arrest
A Bristol, Tennessee woman has been jailed in Johnson City on burglary related charges. 29 year old Jessica Patton-Parks and an accomplice are alleged to have broken into a residence on West Maple and stole property. She was arrested and taken to the county detention center where she is being held on a 20 thousand dollar bond. Arraignment is scheduled for July 7th. (JB)

Tri City Televangelist Jailed After Indictment
A Tri-Cities television evangelist has been arrested on allegations she abused her 92 year old mother and 59 year old husband. 59 year old Brenda Viars of Blountville was arrested Thursday after a Sullivan County grand jury returned an indictment against her. The indictment claims that she neglected and abused her mother and husband from May, 2010 through February of this year. Viars is being held on a 50 thousand dollar bond. (JB)

Kingsport Drug Arrests
Members of the Kingsport Vice unit were investigating drug activity at Model City Apartments last (Wednesday) night and made two arrests. After a search of 33-year old Brian Kelly and 37-year old Kathy Lewis’s apartment, police found six ounces of marijuana in addition to items that are used to package and distribute illegal narcotics. Lewis and Kelly were both arrested and charged with Possession of over 1/2ounce of Marijuana for Resale, Maintaining a Dwelling were Narcotics are Used/Sold or Stored, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Rogersville Bans Private Fireworks During Celebration
Rogersville City leaders tells us that anyone caught using fireworks at the Rogersville City Park during the celebration on Saturday will be expelled. Authorities say that those caught could also be arrested and charged with reckless endangerment. Just over 30 thousand people are expected to attend the fireworks display. (JB)

Two Charged With Breaking Into JC Nightclub
A Church Hill man and his accomplice from Jonesborough have been arrested and charged with breaking into Johnson City's Chrome Nightclub. 28 year old David Houston Cole and 27 year old Joshua Neumann were walking near the nightclub and stopped by a patrol officer. They were taken back to the departments Criminal Investigations Division where they are alleged to have confessed to having broken into the nightclub six times over the last week. Surveillance video shows the two men stealing alcohol from the club's patio. Bond has been set at 65 thousand dollars. (JB)

Burglary Arrest
Investigators with the Johnson City police department have arrested a city man in connection with a home burglary. The burglary happened on June 21st. Aaron Michael Attkisson is alleged to have entered the home and stole several items. He's currently in the Washington County Detention Center on a 41 thousand dollar bond. Arraignment is set for sometime today. (JB)

Investigators Charge Bluff City Man With Robberies
An arrest has been made in the recent robberies of two Walgreen's Pharmacies in Johnson City. Investigators have arrested 29 year old Mickel A. Richards of Bluff City. He's alleged to have robbed the Walgreen's on South Roan on June 15th. He's also believed to have hit the Walgreen's on State of Franklin on June 26th. Mr. Richards is currently in the Washington County Detention Center on a 40 thousand dollar bond.

Cops Say It's The Largest Meth Lab Ever Found
One person has been arrested after a drug raid uncovered what police are calling the largest meth lab ever discovered in Southwest Virginia. 21 year old Stephen Frost Junior was taken into custody after police found 115 meth cook bottles and paraphernalia at his Norfolk Avenue residence.

Sullivan County Shooting Investigation
A shooting in Sullivan County remains unsolved, but a woman who officers encountered at the scene was arrested for assault and resisting arrest. Carl Huffman was found shot in the leg at 175 Pond Spring Road. He was hospitalized and is expected to be ok. 35-year old Sabrina Sanchez confronted an officer with scissors, resisted and was arrested. But she was not believed to have been involved in the shooting. The investigation continues. (SH)
