Watauga Man Charged With Child Rape, Incest
A Watauga, Tennessee man has been charged with child rape. Deputies arrested 61 year old Wallace David Reed and charged him with four counts of rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery and incest. Details about the case are not available, but Sheriff Ed Graybeal did say in a press release that his department worked closely with the Children's Advocacy Center and the Department of Children's Service. Reed is being held on a 231 thousand dollar bond.

Woman Caught Receiving Drugs At Home
An Elizabethton woman has been arrested after she was caught receiving shipments of drugs at her home. Sheriff Chris Mathes tells us that Beverlie Margle was allegedly gtting packages from California. The most recent package was signed for at an address in Washington County on November 17th. During a raid of her home authorities seized assets, firearms and drug paraphernalia. More charges are expected to be filed.

J.C. Burglary And Assault Arrest
A 9-1-1 call to police has lead to assault an burglary charges against a General Delivery, Johnson City man. A woman reported that her former boyfriend has broken into her home and assaulted her. Police arrested 30 year old Bonifacio Cedillo and charged him with simle assault and aggravated burglary.

Bristol Man Charged With Attempted Murder
Bristol, Tennessee police have arrested a Spruce Street man on Attempted Murder and Especially Aggravated Kidnapping charges. The incident happened Thursday when Melissa Ann Jones called 9-1-1 to say that her estranged husband, Clovis McDowell Jones had attacked her with a knife. She alleges that when she tried to leave; Mr. Jones held her against her will. Melissa Jones received multiple stab wounds to her hands, head, chest and back. She was taken to the Bristol Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Mountain City Man Charged As Part Of Check Fraud Scheme
A Mountain City man an nine other people have been arrested in a large and elaborate check fraud scheme. The U.S. Postal Service and Knoxville police made the arrests this week as part of "Operation Check Fraud". Stevie Issacs of Mountain City and his alleged co-conspirators have been charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud. If convicted they each face up to 30 years in prison and up to 1 million dollars in fines.

Fugitive Arrested
Johnson City Police have apprehended a man wanted in Wisconsin. It happened Wednesday when Wisconsin authorities requested that police check an East Pine Street residence for 33 year old Gerald Spencer. According to Captain Brian Rice, Spencer is wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for a parole violation. He was taken into custody and is being held on a 20 thousand dollar bond.

Two Charged In October Burglary
Johnson City police investigators have arrested two men in connection with an October residential burglary. The break-in happened on October 12th on Indian Ridge Road. Two TV's, a DVD player, and numerous DVDs were taken. Investigators identified 20 year old Anthony Allen Overstreet and 27 year old Chad Waylon Whitson as suspects. They were arrested Wednesday and booked into the Washington County Detention Center.

DUI Suspect Relieves Himself On Police Cruiser
Johnson City police tell us that a man urinated on a police cruiser during a traffic stop for drunk driving. 23 year old Darinel Lopez Cruz was stopped around 3:30 Sunday morning after police observed his Chevy Blazer weaving in and out of traffic. Cruz was given a field sobriety test and was arrested. That's when he relieved himself on the cruiser. Cruz was charged with DUI and Indecent Exposure.

Constable Arrested
A Carter County constable was arrested Monday on perjury charges. Those charges stem from Barney Brown having signed an affidavit claiming he was eligible to run for the office of constable. A Roan Mountain citizen complained just before the August election to Sheriff Chris Mathes that Brown had a prior felony conviction from 1961. A background check was conducted and Brown resigned from his newly elected position. In October the County Commission returned Brown to the job by a 20-4 vote.

Telford Woman Charged With Felony Shoplifting
Johnson City police arrested aTelford woman on felony shoplifting charges on Sunday. 48 year old Janet Stout is alleged to have taken items from Belk at the Mall at Johnson City. She is being held in the Washington County Detention Center and will be arraigned this week.
