J.C. Drug Arrest
Three men have been arrested by Johnson City Police for allegedly selling crack cocaine. Their arrests follow a two week investigation. 45 year old Andrew Odem, 62 year old Frank Beard and 46 year old Joey Adams are charged with the sell and delivery of Schedule II drugs, conspiracy, and free school zone violation. Adams faces an additional charge of Evading Arrest. Arraignment for the three is set for today.

J.C. Man Arrested After Traffic Stop
Johnson City police arrested a man after a traffic stop. 21 year old Marcus Isiah Price was pulled over because of an expired registration. A consent search of his vehicle turned up 9 bags of marijuana and a half gram of crack cocaine. Price was charged with having a suspended license and possession of drugs for resale. He will be arraigned later on today.

More Arrests Announced At Press Conference
Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes and Avery County, North Carolina Sheriff Kevin Frye held a joint press conference on Wednesday. They announced three more arrests in connection with the weekend raid on Buck Mountain. Four other people were arrested over the weeknd bringing the total to 7. Mathes says that the illegal activities had been going on for over three decades due to the rugged terrain in the area. A Carter County deputy also found a moonshine still at property owned by the son-in-law of one of the men arrested over the weekend.

Greene County School On Lockdown
A Greene County school went on lockdown on Tuesday. Police say that a domestic disturbance spilled over onto school grounds. It happened at McDonal Elementary School in Mohawk. A husband and wife were fighting and the woman went into the school for safety. This prompted the lockdown. David Bowlin was arrested and charged with aggravated criminal trespassing, domestic assault and impersonating a police officer. He's alleged to have told school responding officers that he was an undercover agent.

Former Indiana Man Sentenced To 14 Years
An Indiana man that moved to Richlands, Virginia to traffic drugs has been sentenced to prison. 51 year old David Wayne Clausen received 14 years in federal court. He pleaded guilty in April to distributing cocaine between Indiana and Tazewell County. He was arrested after a task for raided a mobile home where he and his girlfriend lived. That raid turned up 50 grams of crack cocaine. Clausen had been previously convicted of distributing methamphetamines in Montana.

Man Charged 7th Offense DUI
A Jonesborough man has been arrested and charged with 7th offense DUI. 45 year old Douglas Barnett was pulled over by deputies when he failed to stop at an intersection on State Route 81. His passenger, 40 year old Joyce Bennett was charged with DUI by Consent. She was the owner of the vehicle that Barnett was driving.

Model City Drug Arrests
Model City police have arrested two people after receiving a report of illegal drug activity. 18 year old Hernan Becerra of Yonkers, New York is charged with possession of stolen property. 29 year old Wendy Georges is charged with possession of over 26 grams of cocaine for resale, possession of marijuana as well as other charges.

Large Meth Bust
Washington County, Tennessee authorities say that 10 pounds of methamphetamines were seized and five people were arrested on May 14th. The arrests were part of an investigation that began as a trial ended in Operation Talisman. Authorities say that the street value of the drugs was just under a half million dollars. Those arrested in the case will have preliminary hearings on May 27th.

Hawkins Authorities On High Speed Chase
A Bulls Gap man has been arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase on his motorcycle. 31 year old Albert Mitchell Pruitt is said to have hit speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour before he crashed over an embankment on Route 66. Pruitt triedto walk away from the crash despite being ordered to stop at police gunpoint. He was tackled by a deputy and taken into custody. A search uncovered OxyContin pills and a spoon stained with a white residue. He will be arraigned on May 26th.

Elderly Woman Charged Again For Drugs
An elderly Bishop, Virginia woman has been arrested on felony drug-related charges....again. 71 year old Shirley Ann Wright was already on probation for distribution of narcotics. She's been charged with 21 counts of Medicaid Fraud and 22 counts of Obtaining Drugs by Fraud. Wright is currently free on bond. A court date will be announced later on.
