Sheriff's Office Reports Marion Man Dies From Accidental Shooting
Investigators in Smyth County are still examining the evidence of what Sheriff's Office Major Chip Shuler described as an accidental death. Deputies were called to a home in the 500 block of Snider's Branch Road in Marion and found 65-yr-old Johnny Michael Adamson dead from a single gunshot wound. Shuler said he does not suspect foul play.

Bristol Man Indicted for Firing Gun in Traffic on I-81
A Bristol man has been indicted by grand jury for attempted murder and other charges after it was reported to police he became involved in road rage incidents involving and fired gunshots in traffic on Interstate 81. In the incidents last month, 25-year-old Dale Whicker Taylor of Bristol Tennessee, reportedly leaned out the window of his car, displayed a gun and as the others got off the interstate at a Welcome Center, gunshots were heard. Taylor is free on bond facing attempted murder, assault and firearms charges.

Younger Brother of Elizabethton Murder Suspect Shoots Self in Leg
Carter County police said a teenager was brought into an Elizabethton hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Investigators said that the child's mother told them the 13-yr-old was looking around in his older brother's bedroom and after finding a .38-caliber revolver, he pulled the trigger thinking it was a toy. The teen is now hospitalized in Johnson City with a gunshot wound to the leg. Police said the victim is the younger brother of Anthony Lacy, who is now in a state facility awaiting trial on first-degree murder charges.

Johnson City Shooting Suspect Has Charges Increased to Attempted First-Degree Murder
The suspect in a Delaware Street shooting in February in Johnson City has had his charges increased following a meeting of the Washington County, TN grand jury. Court documents show Delmar Mack, Jr., is now charged with attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated rape. Investigators said the victim, Mack's wife, received a gunshot wound to the hip and she told police Mack had beaten her all day long. Mack told officers that he accidentally shot his wife because of his PTSD condition.

Kingsport Homeowner Shoots Breaking-In Burglar
Sullivan County deputies responded to a burglary and shots fired call in the MeadowView area of Kingsport. Once they arrived, a 70-yr-old homeowner on Happy Hill Road told officers he saw a man standing outside his home then break his bedroom window and began crawling inside. Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Leslie Earhart... “Once the suspect began to climb inside the window, the homeowner grabbed a pistol and fired shots. Two of those shots hit the suspect.” Investigators then got word that Jason Scott McClellan was admitted to an area hospital with gunshot wounds. Earhart said charges are pending against McClellan who remains in the medical center.
