Woman Pleads Guilty to Lesser Charge After Stabbing Boyfriend
A Johnson City woman who became violent after a political argument is waiting to find out how long she'll spend in prison. 31-year old Elizabeth Archer stabbed and killed Jeremy Mounts at their Chestnut Street home back in July 2013. She entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter and remains free on bond. Archer is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on February 20th.

Carter County Teen Pleas Guilty to 2012 Murder
A Carter County teenager prosecuted for his role in the stabbing death of another pleas guilty. 16 year old Nicolas Willen pleaded guilty to one charge of voluntary manslaughter in the 2012 death of 16 year old Elijah McKinney. His sentencing is not set, but Willen could be facing over ten years in prison. (EE)

Johnson City Stabbing Victim Recovering From Serious Wounds
Johnson City police say a man was stabbed on Eighth Avenue. During their investigation, they found Jorge Rios-Ramirez on Orchard Street thanks to a call of an unwanted guest in the area. As officers spoke to him, he admitted to the stabbing. The 40-year old man has been booked on Second Degree Murder charges. The victim is being treated at Johnson City Medical Center for the stab wounds, some of which are reported to be serious.

Police Investigate Stabbing in Johnson City
A man showed up with stab wounds at a hospital emergency room in Johnson City and police are investigating. Apparently the man had more than a dozen stab wounds when a friend took him to Johnson City medical Center. Apparently it happened at the victim's home at Millercrest Apartments. (LM)

Man Accused of Box Cutter Stabbing Indicted by Grand Jury
Donald Estes, the Mount Carmel man accused of stabbing two men with a box cutter, has been indicted by a grand jury. The 34-year old Hawkins County man is charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder after a February incident involving a meth making operation. Estes will be back in court on October 3rd.

After Stabbing, Both Man and Wife Arrested in Kingsport
Sullivan County authorities say a woman stabbed her husband, sending him to the hospital. And now both Jeffrey and Kristy Hundley of Fort Henry Drive are in jail. She’s charged with aggravated assault, after reports the couple argued, she used a knife to stab the tires of both his vehicles and then stabbed him, later flagging down a passing car and giving the driver the knife. Jeff Hundley was treated for wounds to his arm and shoulder and released from the hospital only to be arrested on outstanding warrants for violation of probation and felony failure to appear. (LM)

Report of Stabbing in Dante, Va., Under Investigation
Russell County authorities are investigating a stabbing incident in the small town of Dante. Reports indicate it happened on Straight Hollow Road and that police are looking for a suspect who fled. The sheriff’s department confirms that it is investigating. No further details at this time. (LM)

New Charge Delays Preliminary Hearing for Woman Charged with Stabbing Husband for "Worshipping" NASCAR
Arraignment in court for the Church Hill woman who, police said, accused her husband of worshipping NASCAR, left home and drove her car into a church and then stabbed her husband, barely missing his heart, when he came to check on her. Stephanie Hamman was arrested in March and authorities said she told them the devil put ideas in her head. Now authorities are concerned that her husband may hedge on testifying against her, so they’ve amended the original complaint. She was arraigned on a new charge of aggravated assault and her preliminary hearing on that, attempted murder, and vandalism was put off until October 27th. (LM)
