SW Virginia Man Charged With Malicious Wounding After Police He Stabbed Girlfriend, Himself
A Southwest Virginia man is charged with malicious wounding after police said he stabbed his girlfriend then stabbed himself. Marion police said 20-yr-old James Rhea of Sugar Grove stabbed the woman while she was driving, forcing her to turn into a restaurant parking lot. Investigators said Rhea then began stabbing himself. The woman was treated and released. Rhea is still hospitalized and will be jailed upon release.

Marion PD: Possible Domestic Situation Results in Stabbing
Officers believe it all started as a domestic situation, but ended with a stabbing. Marion Police say it happened in the parking lot of the Appletree Restaurant on Highway 16. Two people were stabbed and taken to the hospital. No word from officers about who was involved or if an arrest has been made as the investigation continues.

Kingsport Man Waives Preliminary Hearing in Killing of Man at YMCA
21-year-old Zachary Morris Gardner, accused of stabbing and killing another man in the parking lot of the Kingsport YMCA, waives his preliminary hearing on a first degree murder charge. Gardner remains in jail unable to post a quarter of a million dollars bond. He's also serving a sentence for probation violations, based on previous misdemeanor. He's accused of killing 22-year-old Huey Stanley, Jr. The two reportedly had been playing basketball before the violence.

A verbal argument in the Lynn Garden community of Kingsport Tuesday night escalated to a fight and left a man with serious stab wounds. 24-yr-old Brandon Salomon is charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault after the attack on Cooper Street while his brother Jeremy Salomon is facing two aggravated assault charges. A police report said the brothers fought with 36-yr-old Justyn Peterson, who officers said suffered a life-threatening stab wound. A teenager was also assaulted in the incident. Court Appearance for Man Charged With Stabbing and Killing Another Outside Kingsport YMCA
21-year-old Zachary Morris Gardner, accused of stabbing and killing another man in the parking lot of the Kingsport YMCA, had his preliminary hearing reset until May 7th. Initially, Gardner indicated he wanted to waive it and have his case proceed on to the grand jury. Then he changed his mind. Judge Mark Toohey increased Gardner's bond to a quarter of a million dollars with evidence that he has previous convictions and a history of bonding out and getting re-arrested. He's charged with first degree murder in the killing of 22-yr-old Huey Stanley, Jr. The two men reportedly had been playing basketball before the violence.
