Woman Found Not Guilty Of Child Abuse
A Washington County, Tennessee jury has found a woman accused of smothering a child not guilty. 32 year old Melony Dawn Roberts was accused of aggravated child abuse in an incident that happened at the Johnson City Medical Center on September 24th, 2004. Prosecution based the case on a video that showed Roberts holding the baby just before she lost consciousness. The jury sided with the defenses contention that the baby suffered sleep apnea induced GERD. (jb)
