A man accused of killing his girlfriend at a Kingsport apartment complex will undergo a mental evaluation. Mark Breeding is alleged to have stabbed Birdie Hartsock to death at City View Apartments on Bloomingdale Pike in February. He was supposed to be in court today for a preliminary hearing, but his lawyer requested a competency evaluation. Breeding's preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for May 3rd. (jb)
