Sullivan County Sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic assault call just after 9:00 o'clock Saturday night. Upon arrival the female victim ran from the house. Her husband, 41 year old Darek Powell followed. He was ordered to get on the ground but became combative with deputies. He was taken to the grouind for officer safety. The victim told police that Mr. Powell had threatened her with a pair of scissors, and had hit her and choke her. Powell was charged with Attempted Murder, Assault on an Officer and Resisting arres.
