Valerie Arnold Appeals Murder Conviction
A Hiltons, Virginia woman convicted in the death of Natasha Gross has filed an appeal of her conviction. 55 year old Valerie Gail Arnold was convicted in February, 2011 and is currently serving a life sentence. Her lawyer has asked the court to set aside her conviction based on insufficient evidence. Scott County Commonwealth's Attorney Marcus McClung will file a response within 21 days. Natasha Gross' skeletal remains were found in a small creek about 1,000 feet behind Arnold's house in East Carter's Valley. (jb)
