New President at Alpha Natural Resources
Bristol Coal producer Alpha Natural Resources has appointed Paul Vining as the company's president to assume duties left behind by Kurt Kost when he retires in May. Vining will continue with his sales and marketing responsibilities as Alpha's chief commercial officer. After 31 years of service Kost will serve as an advisor. CEO Kevin Crutchfield says the company will combine mining operations with sales and marketing to create a more effective business model. Alpha Natural Resources employs about 14-thousand people at more than 180 mines and processing plants in five states. (bg)
