Moving Forward with the New Animal Shelter
The Washington County Johnson City Animal Control Board has purchased just over 6 acres off North Roan Street for the new animal shelter. The city allocated 350-thousand dollars from Animal Control Board reserves to close the deal. Board members approved the purchase on a 3-2 vote with David Tomita and Pat Wolfe voting no. Now that the property belongs to the board a fundraising drive has begun to help fund the construction of a building on site hopefully by late summer. (bg)
