Johnson City police have taken a man into custody for allegedly hitting his girlfriend in the head with a table leg, 45 year old David Wortman is also alleged to have hit the woman in the face with a ceramic plate. When police arrived they were met by Mr. Wortman, who became combative. He was subdued and taken into custody. Wortman is charged with aggravated domestic assault, assault on law enforcement officers and resisting arrest. He is being held without bond until his initial court appearance this afternoon. (jb)
