Virginia State Police are asking the Attorney General for authorization to investigate an alleged assault and battery in Wise County. School Board member Rocky Cantrell is alleged to have assaulted Wise County Supervisor Ronnie Shortt in a courthouse hallway after the April 12th supervisors meeting. The Attorney General has to authorize any investigation agasing an elected official. (jb)
