NE State Student Arrested For Carrying Gun On Campus
A Northeast State Community College student was arrested Tuesday for bringing a gun on campus. Campus police received a tip that 38 year old Brandon Eugene Scott of Johnson City was carrying a .22 caliber pistol. According to Campus Police Chief John Edens, Scott had a concealed carry permit. Even with a carry permit, it's illegal to bring a firearm on a college campus. Scott was taken to the Sullivan County Correctional Center and booked on the charges. If convicted he faces up to six year in jail and up to a 3,000 dollar fine. (jb)
