Grand Jury Reinstates Charges Against Parker
A Washington County, Tennessee grand jury has reinstated rape charges against a man accused of severely beating a woman and leaving her in a city park. 47 year old Eric Parker was originally charged with attempted first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated rape and robbery. During his preliminary hearing Judge James Nidifer dismissed the rape and robbery charges because of probable cause. An alert Johnson City patrol officer found the victim lying in Lions Park, almost nude, beaten with several gunshot wounds and a black leather belt around her neck. (jb)
