Former Hawkins County detective Brad Depew has been released from Holston Valley Hospital. He was shot by his wife Loretta Monday afternoon. A 9-1-1 call was placed by his wife just before 6:00 o'clock. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into the incident. Depew has been indicted on 72 counts of stealing drugs from the Sheriff's Department evidence locker. He is yet to stand trial. (jb)
