Major Bicycle Racing This Weekend in NE Tennessee
This is a huge weekend for bicycle racing action in Northeast Tennessee presented by the Tri-Cities Road Club. Johnson City Omnium 2012 is a three race event anchored by the 27th running of the Roan Groan. Race Director Renau Dubberly says they have 408 riders for the Roan Groan Road Race. Registration is closed. The Pro portion of that race is 56.69 miles from Elizabethton to the 6300 foot summit of Roan Mountain. The Criterium, closed course race, in Johnson City will be run Sunday thru the downtown streets of Johnson City.(CS)
