Kingsport police are investigating a motorcycle fatality on Interstate 81. It happened just before 6:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon near mile marker 58. Police say that the motorcycle was traveling northbound when some other vehicles slowed down for a tire in the middle of the roadway. The driver of the motorcycle didn't slow down in time and overturned the bike in order to avoid hitting the other cars. He slid about 250 feet before stopping. The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. (jb)
