K-9 Helps Catch Criminal
A Sullivan County K-9 was able to locate and help apprehend a man that led deputies on a high speed chase after they tried to stop him. 34 year old Douglas Salyer of Surgoinsville was getting gas at a convenience store on Lynn Garden Drive when deputies recognized his van as being used in some recent burglaries. When deputies tried to talk to him, he jumped in the van and led them on the chase. The deputies called off the chase when speeds became to dangerous. K-9 officer Axle was called in and located Salyer in some woods off of Haynes Drive. (jb)
