Man Indicted In Screwdriver Standoff
A grand jury has returned an indictment against a Kingsport man who threatened police with a screwdriver. 33 year old Benny Fields is said to have threatened police with the screwdriver and told them they would have to shoot him on January 26th. Police were investigating a domestic assault call on Darlington Drive in Bloomingdale. Fields eventually dropped the screwdriver, but continued to resist arrest. EMS took Fields to the hospital because he complained of difficulty breathing. (jb)
