Convicted Murderer To Cooperate With Investigation
A man convicted of murder in Scott County, Virginia is cooperating with Johnson City prosecutors in another murder case. 41 year old Gary Gilbert is one of three people that are accused of killing Steven Rodriguez in May, 2010. He, and two co-conspirators and 21 year old Natasha Collins went to the man's apartment to rob him of drugs and money. Gilbert along with Tony and Jennifer Purcell then killed Natasha Collins to keep her quiet about the Rodriguez death. They dumped her body in a remote area of East Carter's Valley in Scott County. Gilbert is currently serving a 25 year sentence in Virginia for his role in Collins' murder. (jb)
