A four year long investigation has ended with a Unicoi County man being jailed for illegal firearm sales. A federal grand jury returned indictments on six counts against Billy Joe Rice. He's alleged to have sold guns without a license. Rice is also alleged to have sold the guns to addicts, felons and fugitives. He is also alleged to have sold methamphetamines from both his home and a conveniences market called Joe and Margaret's on Unicoi Drive. Mr. Rice is being held by U.S. Marshals until he appears in court in August. (jb)
