Tim Jones, formerly general manager of the Johnson City Press newspaper, has died. Jones died last week in Nashville. He was the third generation of his family to lead the Johnson City Press, which was co-founded by his grandfather. Jones joined the newspaper in 1968 and became vice president and general manager in 1978. He held that role until the family sold the newspaper in 2002.
