Erwin Agrees to Engineering Contracts For Downtown
The Erwin Board of Mayor and Aldermen agreed to consider engineering plans and contracts which outline aesthetic and infrastructure improvements downtown. This work would include the addition of an underground retention pipe to collect stormwater and divert it. The contracts pertain to work that is to be completed along Main Avenue, and do not include the skate park and playground that are planned to be constructed along Nolichucky. The board approved a contract with the E. Luke Greene Company for the demolition portions of the project. The construction contract was awarded to Bowman and Sons Construction Company. (bg)
