Freak Storms Rage Through Region
Thousands of people were left without power after a freak wind storm blew through the region late Saturday. Nearly 3,500 outages were reported in Tazewell County, Virginia. 305 homes in Washington County, Virginia and 120 in Sullivan County were plunged into darkness. Another round of storms blew through the region Sunday night, downing trees and power lines. Virginia has opened up cooling stations for residents without power. (jb)
