Meadowview Man Caught Stealing Converters
Abingdon police have arrested a Meadowview, Virginia man for stealing catalytic converters. 44 year old Robert Jarrett picked the wrong car when he tried to take the converter from a parked car around 2:00 o'clock Wednesday morning. A Pittsburgh man was inside his vehicle resting when he heard a vehicle pull in beside him. He then felt his car vibrating. He got out and confronted a man standing beside his car, and a man in the other vehicle. The two left quickly, but not before their tag number was written down. Police traced the tag number to a Meadowview residence. Three catalytic converters, and several tools were found inside Jarrett's car. (jb)
