Sullivan Jail Escape Attempt
Two Sullivan County jail inmates have been charged with trying to escape. The incident happened just after 9:00 o'clock Sunday night. The inmates managed to get a ceiling tile in their cell off, and climbed into the crawl space above it. This triggered an alarm. Deputies climbed into the crawl space, but were not able to see Daniel Ray Spitzer and Nathan Morelock. K-9 Evo was brought into the cell. Deputies announced they were about to let Evo loose. At that point the inmates spoke up and told deputies they would come out. Both men face felony escape charges. (jb)
