TN Right To Life Refuses To Endorse Shipley
The Tennessee Right To Life PAC has decided to not endorse State Representative Tony Shipley in his re-election bid. Shipley is facing former Kingsport Alderman Ben Mallicote in the August 2nd primary. Shipley represents the 2nd House District. Last year he introduced a resolution promoting the use of telemedicine in Tennessee. Right To Life advocates feared the legislation would clear the way for Planned Parenthood to expand the use of abortion pills in rural areas of Tennessee. Shipley refused to ammend his bill. State Representative Matthew Hill was successful in getting another bill passed to make chemical abortions legal only in the presence of a doctor. (jb)
