Senate Candidate Lenard Visits Johnson City
Tennessee Senatorial Candidate Brenda Lenard made a campaign stop in Johnson City Tuesday to speak at the Washington County Republican Woman’s meeting. Lenard, who is running against Senator Bob Corker, says the main complaint she’s received from Tennesseans is that they can’t find a job. She also said she would tell the President that no more stimulus money is needed. She says the redistribution of stimulus money to big corporations has taken away the needed funds for small businesses to employ more people. Lenard, an African American single mother, is about to receive her Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Tennessee. She is one of four Republicans facing off against Senator Corker in the August 2 GOP Primary Election. (hra)
