BOE Members Upset With Mayor
Members of the Kingsport Board of Education are upset with Mayor Dennis Phillips. At issue is his recommendation of the person to replace Cheryl Harvey who resigned her seat on the Board of Education last week. During a work session Monday afternoon, Phillips recommended Andy King to fill the vacancy. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted unanimously to appoint him at Tuesday nights meeting. Board of Education members say that they were not consulted prior to the appointment. (jb)
