Scientists To Survey Fault Lines
Seismologists are looking deep under central Virginia for the causes of an earthquake that rattled millions along the East Coast last August. They plan to use an airplane carrying sophisticated measuring devices to scope out buried geological features and detect underground faults 7 to 9 miles deep.
