TOPS-Watauga, NC Deputy Killed
A Watauga County, North Carolina deputy has been killed in the line of duty. 23 year old William Mast Junior and another deputy responded to a domestic violence call early Thursday morning. It happened around 1:00 am. When deputies arrived at the mobile home on Hardin Road in Deep Gap the suspect opened fire, killing Mast. The other deputy shot and killed 33 year old Mitchell Allen Trivette. (jb)
