A special prosecutor has been appointed in the case where a Chilhowie business was apparently using a Smyth County Sheriff's office cell phone as their primary business number. Matthew Lewis, the owner of Lewis and Clark Outdoors was using the phone. His father, Kenneth Lewis is the former Chief Deputy of the sheriff's department. He retired last Tuesday. The county has completed their internal investigation and is waiting on the results of a state police probe before releasing their findings. (jb)
