About 200-people turned out for the open house at the Abingdon Health & Rehab Center. The nursing home’s first resident moved in last week even though the facility is still waiting for their certification to accept Medicare and Medicaid patients. The property is expected to benefit the older residents of Washington County and the profit made from the sale of the adjoining 25 acres will help the town build a sports complex. Abingdon is now negotiating for the site of the new complex. (bg)
