Two Tax Increase Proposals Under Review in Sullivan County
Sullivan County residents may vote on two local tax increase proposals in the November election. The Sullivan County Administrative Committee voted unanimously to put a wheel tax and a sales tax measure on the ballot. The wheel tax would be a one time annual payment of 20-dollars from everyone who owns a vehicle. The property tax increase would be between 60 & 100-dollars a year for everyone who owns property. Before either proposal can be put on a ballot, the commission’s Budget and Executive committees must review them and the full commission must give final approval. (bg)
