Unemployment Numbers
The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development has released unemployment numbers for July. The state's unemployment rate was 8.4 percent, up 3 10ths of a percent from June. The rate is reported to be the highest since December 2011, but still a full one percent below a year ago. The national unemployment rate for July is 8.3 percent. (jb)
