Brooks Pleads Guilty To Overlook Killing The Nashville man who was charged with first-degree murder in May, 2010 for killing a West Virginia man at a Unicoi County overlook has entered a guilty plea. John Lee Brooks pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second degree murder. He killed 23 year old Matthew Ware who was hitch hiking. Brooks got upset when Ware made negative remarks against the U.S. Military. Judge Jon Kerry Blackwood sentenced Brooks to 25 years in prison. He must serve 100 percent of that sentence. (jb)
