A New Marker Will Be Placed At The Carter County Courthouse
A new marker will be placed in front of the Carter County Courthouse to honor Confederate soldiers of the Civil War. The Carter County Commission approved the request from the Sons of Confederate Veterans a year ago. Carter County residents who fought for the South will stand at the base of the large Veterans Monument. October 13th at 2pm is the tentative date for the new monument to be dedicated with a memorial service. (bg)
