Missing Person Investigation Could Be Homicide
A search is underway near Watauga Lake for a missing Johnson City woman. 28 year old Vonda Donaldson was last seen Saturday evening after attending her father's wedding. Johnson City police investigators developed clues early on that Ms. Donaldson may be a victim of a homicide, and that her body was possibly taken to a remote area in Carter County. Search crews have combed the area near the Butler bridge. Police have named Steven Bennett as a person of interest in the case. He's said to have told a family member he choked Donaldson after she called him names. (jb)
